Canadian style icon Kimberley Newport-Mimran’s modern girl’s guide to glamour makes its debut at Toronto Fashion Week
TORONTO (September 6, 2019) — Kimberley Newport-Mimran made her return to the runway today at Toronto Fashion Week with the debut of her new eveningwear line, the Kim Newport Collection. The President and Design Director of Pink Tartan partnered with 96-year-old Canadian heritage company House of Beker, which boasts a rich history in Canadian fashion, to bring her first foray in the eveningwear category to life.
“The whole idea of glamour is that it becomes part of your style, and I’ve always believed that great style never goes out of fashion,” says Newport-Mimran. “The Kim Newport Collection is an extension of what I love — modern, sophisticated pieces that you wear again and again. It’s an inspiring moment to put together a line focused on beautiful eveningwear.”
The Kim Newport Collection is a modern girl’s guide to glamour, offering relevant, timeless pieces for life’s most special occasions. The line includes dresses and suiting in an elegant palette of black, white and pink. Removable capes add a transformative quality to dresses. Details are classic yet playful and include bows, feathers, and pearl detailing. The line is also fully customizable, a decision made with bridal parties and one-of-a-kind clients in mind.
The presentation at the Royal Ontario Museum was a classic high-fashion runway and Newport-Mimran collaborated with Canada’s top fashion talent to complete the show.
The models wore statement jewelry by ethical Montreal jewelry brand Ecksand; statement rings and jeweled chokers from both the Cirque and North collections. The hats and headbands were done in collaboration with artist Maryam Keyhani. The show was styled by award-winning stylist and fashion director Zeina Esmail. Both Ecksand jewelry and Keyhani’s jewelry will be available at Kim’s flagship store, Pink Tartan.
The Kim Newport Collection will be available at Pink Tartan as well as other select retailers across North America in February 2020.
